Until last year, I had never been to Amsterdam. I always saw the Dutch city online or in movies and it looked incredible so I knew I had to go there someday. Two weeks ago I finally did and I can assure you that Amsterdam lived up to my expectations. The canals and the narrow streets were some of my favourite parts of the city but you’ve probably read about those in every blogpost. The best thing I discovered had to be the restaurants. Here are my two favourites:
CAFE GEORGE :
This restaurant had been on my to do list for ages and I was so glad that I finally got to pay a visit. What drew me to Café George? First of all it is the epitome of instagramable. The plates, the cups and even the bathroom looks great on pictures. Besides the café being photogenic, you know priorities, the food is also really good! I had a delicious BLT (no dieting on holiday right?) with a latte. If that hasn’t convinced you yet for some reason, you should also know that there is hand lotion (what?!) in the bathroom.
THE BREAKFAST CLUB :
Breakfast is my absolute favourite meal of the day. The Breakfast Club got my attention when I discovered that you can have breakfast there ALL DAY LONG. Then I saw that they serve pancakes and I just knew I had to go. Let me tell you, those pancakes were the best pancakes I have ever had in my life. They were light, fluffy and just the perfect amount of sweet. The fruit that accompanied the pancakes gave them a nice acidic touch and I felt like the meal was still kind of healthy (one can hope right?). The friendly staff and the nice decor were just the cherry on the (pan)cake.
