I tend to find inspiration for my outfits literally e-ve-ry-where. Obviously the catwalk is the first place to look but where I get the best ideas is probably more unexpected: movies and TV shows. When I was younger I used to copy my favourite character’s style (yes I walked around like a mini Lizzie McGuire at one point). I thought it would be a good idea to start a new series on that. In this post I copied an Andy Sachs ensemble from ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.
BAKER BOY HAT
Picking a look from this movie was really hard because there was plenty of choice. That one scene after her makeover where you literally see her in millions of different outfits really didn’t help either since I adored every single one of them. I went for one where she wore a baker boy hat as they are all over the high street at the moment. Although she wore a tweed version I opted for a more simple one from Zara.
OFF THE SHOULDER + SHIRT
In the movie they paired a white shirt with an off the should jumper. This is a brilliant idea if you want to spice up your office look and want to wear layers. I picked a grey jumper because a darker colour looked good on the white crisp shirt.
To complete the whole “I’m going to work at the office” look I wore some gingham trousers from Bershka. The ones that Andy was wearing were actually flared but I thought I’d alter the ensemble and wear cigarette trousers instead. I kept the accessories neutral so the look wasn’t all over the place.
